Rising Damp Treatment & DPC Installation
Rising damp is associated with moisture moving upward through porous masonry where an effective damp-proof barrier is absent or defective. Similar symptoms can also be caused by bridging, leaks, salts and condensation, so diagnosis should consider the full pattern of evidence.
Check for bridging and other moisture sources
Internal plaster, render, debris or high external levels can bridge an existing damp-proof course. Leaks, hygroscopic salts and condensation can also mimic aspects of rising damp. The repair should respond to the evidence found at the property.
Where damp-proof course work is appropriate, the proposed method, preparation and associated finish repairs are set out in a written quotation after inspection. Read when a chemical DPC may not be needed.
