Rising Damp Treatment & DPC Installation
True rising damp occurs when a property's original physical slate or bitumen damp proof course (DPC) bridging fails, or was omitted entirely. It results in characteristic 'tide marks' on wall plaster and destructive crystal deposits (efflorescent salts).
Check For Plaster Bridging First
A massive percentage of 'rising damp' claims are actually caused by internal floor plasters bridging down past the physical DPC layer and wicking dampness through concrete slabs. Injecting chemical gels won't fix this bridging—plaster slicing is required.
