Parkside offers a standard damp survey and a separate pre-purchase damp and timber survey. Here, we outline the confirmed fees in Dorset.
The standard damp survey is £65 + VAT. The pre-purchase damp and timber survey is £250 + VAT. Level 2 Homebuyer surveys are priced from £395 + VAT.
A free quotation and a paid diagnostic inspection serve different purposes. Parkside's report records evidence and recommendations, and you are under no obligation to commission any recommended repair work from Parkside Construction.
Choosing the correct damp survey
Tell Parkside whether the inspection is for an existing damp concern or connected with a property purchase. Parkside will confirm whether the £65 + VAT standard damp survey or the £250 + VAT pre-purchase service is appropriate before booking.
Information that helps confirm the right scope
A few practical details allow Parkside to check the service, access and likely inspection limits before an appointment is accepted:
- whether this is an existing concern, a landlord enquiry or a property purchase;
- the property address, postcode, type and approximate age;
- the rooms or areas affected and when the symptoms first appeared;
- clear photographs of the internal symptoms and relevant outside elevation;
- access restrictions, known leaks, previous work and any purchase deadline.
These details do not replace the inspection and are not used to promise a remote diagnosis. They help Parkside explain what can reasonably be inspected and whether another specialist may be required.
What the pre-purchase fee covers
The pre-purchase service includes an agreed on-site inspection and written damp and timber report. Relevant photographs, readings, likely causes, practical priorities and access limitations are recorded. It is narrower than a whole-property Level 2 or Level 3 condition report.
Opening-up, laboratory testing, drainage testing and specialist structural, electrical or gas advice are not automatically included. If the property or requested scope is unusual, Parkside will explain any limitation before accepting the booking.
Repairs are priced separately
There is no responsible flat price for damp-proofing or timber repair before the cause, extent and access are known. Where suitable work falls within Parkside Construction's scope, it can provide a separate written quotation after inspection.
Local damp survey coverage
Parkside provides damp survey appointments across Dorset, including Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch, subject to access and availability. Each local guide explains property and access factors that can affect the inspection scope.
